John is a founding member of the Fine Arts Care and Treatments Standards (FACTS) organization. FACTS is composed of industry leaders who write standards for proper framing based on good science and consensus. John is also a member of the Generally Accepted Framing Practices (GAFP) committee that writes standards for the maximum preservation of artwork.

John has lived in Sonoma County for over 40 years, and in Cotati since 1992. John is also an avid SCUBA diver.
